Breaking new ground from 40…

Rethinking - and breaking new ground

Why many women suddenly change their mindset during the menopause – and break new ground

Perhaps you know this sentence from your own head:

“I’m just functioning.”

You do what needs to be done. You stick together, organize, react. And somewhere in between, you fall by the wayside. This is exactly the feeling that many women experience from the age of 40 – and it often becomes even more pronounced during the menopause. Not because you are “too sensitive”. It’s because your body and your inner self start to become honest.

Many women start to rethink during this phase. They leave old things behind, set new priorities, change relationships, jobs – or start all over again. Quietly, but firmly.

And that is no coincidence.

What happens during the menopause (and why it triggers so much)

The menopause is not just “a bit of hormones”. It is a transitional phase in which many things in the body are reorganized – and many women feel this in their everyday lives:

  • Sleep becomes lighter, more restless or less restful.
  • Hot flushes and night sweats may occur.
  • Mood, energy, focus: sometimes like a rollercoaster.
  • The stress level feels “too high” more quickly.

Large long-term studies such as SWAN (Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation) show, for example, that vasomotor symptoms (i.e. hot flushes/night sweats) occur in a large proportion of women at some point during this phase – around 60-80% depending on the study/group – and become particularly frequent around the late perimenopause and early postmenopause.

And: symptoms are often linked. Recent evaluations show, for example, that hot flushes and sleep problems increase around the menopause.
What this means in real life is simple:

If you sleep badly for weeks or months, feel exhausted more quickly and your nervous system is “under power” – this automatically changes the way you think about your life.

The menopause is often also a “life reset”

In addition to the body, something else happens: many women are in the middle of a full life during this time.
Job. Family. Responsibility. Mental load. Perhaps parents who need support. Perhaps children who are slowly becoming more independent. And at some point this question comes up:

“Is that it now? Or can there be something else?”

Studies that deal with menopause and working life also show that if symptoms are very stressful, this can have an impact on working life – up to and including adjustments or changes in the job.
And qualitative research very clearly describes how closely exhaustion is linked to the double burden of work and private life – and that some women reduce their workload in response, for example.
This is not a “failure”.
This is often a signal:

It’s no longer possible – or no longer coherent.

Why many women are now leaving things behind

During the menopause, things that have long been ignored often become visible:

  • Too little self-care
  • Too many “I have to”
  • Too few breaks
  • too little real joy
  • too little space for you

Many women suddenly realize:
“I can no longer just be the one who works for everyone.
And then the rethink begins. Not dramatically. More like an inner awakening.
You might leave yourself behind:

  • Perfectionism (because it makes you tired)
  • People leasing (because it draws you empty)
  • a job that is “secure” but no longer nourishes you inside
  • old role models (“I have to do it alone.”)

This is often not a spontaneous impulse. It is rather a quiet, clear knowledge:
“I want to feel myself again.”

The crucial point: It’s not about “changing everything” – but about taking small steps

If your everyday life is full, you don’t need 10 new to-dos.
You need a starting point. A step that is really doable. Minutes, not hours.
Here are three mini-steps that many women find relieving:

  • 60 seconds in the morning – before you start working
    Hand on heart or stomach.
One question: “What do I need today so that I don’t lose myself?”
  • A “wind-down” ritual in the afternoon (2-3 minutes)
Not as a luxury. But rather as care for the nervous system.
Briefly go to the window, relax your shoulders and breathe out slowly.
  • A friendly boundary you set today
A small no. Or a “I’ll get back to you later”.
    Not hard. Sure.

Small steps are not small.
They are the beginning of freedom – at your pace, at your rhythm.

And then often comes this second longing: “I want more freedom.”

When the basis (energy, calm, self-care) becomes a little more stable again, many women have another wish:
More self-determination.
More purpose.
More financial breathing space.
More time that belongs to you.
Not because you want “higher, faster, further”.
But because you realize: time is precious.
And yes: many women use precisely this phase of life to make new career choices. Sometimes completely new.

My path – and why I accompany women on it today

I have also taken this step. I know what it feels like when you realize inside: “I don’t want to carry on like this.
And that’s exactly why today I help women over 40 to step out of pure functioning – calmly, in a way that is suitable for everyday life and without pressure.
A big part of this is: arriving back at yourself.
And then – if you want – opening the door to new perspectives.

A smooth transition: natural routines – and why fragrances can play a role here

Natural routines play an important role in my everyday life (and in my support). Not as a promise of healing. But as support that you can really get into your day.
Many women experience, for example, that scents can be a quick anchor:
Our sense of smell is closely linked to areas of the brain that process emotions and memories (including the limbic system).
In other words, a familiar scent can remind you of calm, help you to “wind down” or reinforce a ritual. Not because it “takes away” a problem, but because it gives your system something to focus on.
And this is where dōTERRA gently comes into the picture:
I work with essential oils as part of everyday routines – without drama, without technical jargon, without promises of healing.

If you want more: 1:1 mentoring – and a quiet start to your business if you wish

My support is 1:1 – e.g. via WhatsApp with voice messages and my digital mentoring. Up close, flexible, suitable for everyday life.
We start with the things that are currently weighing you down the most: energy, sleep, stress, “under power”.
Then we build up one routine after another. Very slowly. At your own pace.
And if you feel that you also want to change something professionally, I’ll also show you how you can grow into a referral business with dōTERRA – calmly, seriously, without pushing and without the typical network vibe.

Important, very clear:
A business can support health routines in everyday life (because you consciously deal with it) and it can be an option to build up more financial and time flexibility in the medium term – but income is never guaranteed and depends on many factors (time, implementation, communication, target group, framework conditions).
What I do specifically if you want to go this way:

  • I will introduce you step by step to products, application and routines suitable for everyday use (so that you really understand and can use it).
  • I’ll show you how to speak honestly and compliantly about recommendations – without pressure, without manipulation.
  • I accompany you on a 1:1 basis to build a coherent structure – to suit your life, not the other way around.
  • And: you are not alone. Community can be a real added value – inspiration, exchange, support.

Maybe this is exactly your moment

When you just feel it:

  • “I’m just functioning.”
  • “I’m tired, although I’m actually doing enough.”
  • “I want to change something, but I don’t know where to start.”

Then: You don’t have to walk this path alone.

If you want, write to me.
No strings attached. And we’ll see together what’s right for you right now – whether it’s about rest and routines or new career prospects.
