When people hear the term network marketing, they often reflexively say something like:
“Oh, it’s such a Ponzi scheme!“
You may have thought or heard this phrase yourself. I can reassure you: You’re not alone in this – and you’re not completely wrong either, because there are actually a lot of myths and misconceptions out there surrounding this business model.
After more than 4.5 years of experience with my own doTERRA business, I know:
Most prejudices arise from ignorance – not from bad intentions.
That’s why I want to clarify things today.
A pyramid scheme is illegal – and for good reason.
There is no real product or service in this type of scheme. The money is earned solely through the constant recruitment of new participants. Profits are made from the deposits of others – not through real added value or honest work.
Characteristics of a pyramid scheme:
In contrast, network marketing is a transparent, legal and growing business model that is permitted and established in many countries, including Germany.
The big difference: it’s about real products, real benefits and real relationships.
As in every industry, there are also dubious providers in network marketing. But to condemn the entire model because of this?
That would be like saying:
“All online stores are scams”, just because you had a bad experience once.
Make up your own mind. Inform yourself, ask questions, check offers. And above all:
Don’t let prejudices hold you back.
Because this is exactly where new doors could open for you – whether for greater well-being, a career change or a new way of living and working.
It’s time to dispel old myths – and create space for new perspectives. And if you want to know what the people “behind doTERRA” are like and what this vibe feels like, then come to the Europe Convention in Brussels from 8-10.5.25.
